27th March 2000

Hi all,
I know, I know! It is long overdue and I'm sorry... but I swear, these thoughts have been sabotaged of late!

I have been busy of late, so to compensate I was going to do a week's worth of motor insurance claims. What happens? Both Graeme (my girlfriend's brother) and I need to make claims for separate incidents involving our cars (neither of which was our fault I should add - an electrical fault with his, a smashed rear windscreen in mine).

Then on a training visit to Slough with I was taken from Heathrow Airport to the place I was visiting by a man who sounded uncannily like Ian Dury. There I was, planning all sorts of jokes along the lines of "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick" and what happens? Ian Dury died! Not just any day, THAT VERY DAY!

It's not blinking funny, I assure you.

Still, enough amusing things have happened since the last thought was sent out.

Firstly I was trained in Slough by a woman who sounded exactly like TV presenter Judy Finnigan!

Then, whilst shopping in a local supermarket I find myself swerving with my trolley, to make sure it doesn't collide with a pneumatic drill! Okay, so it was a 24hr Asda and it was 1am in the morning, but you still don't fix a cracking floor during shopping hours!

Most amazingly of all... I got some common sense from a bank!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO George Barris, who, on the grounds that he designed the Batmobile (yes, THE Batmobile), has been in talks with NASA about building a car to drive around Mars. Congratulations will also be due to anyone who ensures extra funding comes NASA's way following this latest revelation.

NO CONGRATULATIONS TO part-time Spice Girl Mel C, whose single "Never Be The Same Again" will have a catastrophic effect upon every country in which it is realised. A song about friends who take their friendship to a higher level is destined to end in lots and lots of friends not being friends any longer. Been there, printed and sold the t-shirts, thank you!

Have a good week!
Tony
